How is Deity Events a Sustainable Wedding Venue
Reduced Transportation Emissions
As an all inclusive wedding venue there is a big emissions saving on transportation and deliveries. The benefit of having everything onsite is we aren’t having a constant fleet of trucks showing up to Deity with deliveries or takeaways. Different food vendors, furniture, china, lighting, DJ and sound equipment, etc.
Similarly our location is a big plus for couples who are planning a wedding with sustainability in mind. With many train options public transportation is one of the easiest ways to get to the wedding venue. Tell your guests to ditch the car and take public transit to Deity Brooklyn. Likewise, there are eight hotels within just a few blocks of Deity Brooklyn. Out of town guests can easily walk to and from the venue.
With the ceremony and reception in one place there isn’t a need for over a hundred people to be transported from the ceremony venue to the reception venue. Take advantage of this detail of Deity. We don’t charge extra for it. You will save time and money in your wedding day. If you rent the Deity Wedding Suite the couple and the wedding party that gets ready with you doesn’t need transportation at all since everyone can start their day in one place.
Refurbishing Instead of Rebuilding
We believe in refurbishing instead of rebuilding. Since Deity’s inception of 368 Atlantic Ave, we prioritized refurbishing instead of rebuilding. Sometimes trying to save the architectural integrity by reusing the original materials has been more costly than just building something fresh and modern. However, it’s a sacrifice worth making.
Energy Efficient Updates
The updates we have made to the building have helped us be more energy efficient. We’ve updated the venue with LED Eco Friendly lighting, heating and cooling.
While the rooftop is a serene place for couples to relax and take beautiful photos, it’s also a new source of life. As Deity has updated the space we also expanded the roof deck allowing for an area of plants and trees.
Reusable Materials
Our décor, china, flatware, linens, glassware, cake stand, furniture and so much is reusable! We use digital marketing and even assist with digital save the dates and wedding invitation to reduce on paper waste. We also promote vendors that use silk flowers. We are always stunned how real they look and how you can’t tell the difference between real and fake on the Deity arch. Plus, they are reusable!
Green Catering
Our Executive Chef has created a Green Catering Menu to show off what robust flavor profiles fresh vegetables can have in each bite. Our meat options are responsibly sourced, but our vegetarian options at Deity are lengthy. We even have a delicious fully vegan menu option.
