At Deity Events we are all about price transparency and part of that is telling you when it’s not a good value. Too often couples get caught up on the little things that aren’t going to make a difference overall to you or your guests’ experience. The wedding budget can feel overwhelming when you start adding up the little things and if that’s you right now, here’s where we say- cut! Based on guests’ experiences here is what to cut to not impact how they remember your wedding.
Save Thousands on your Wedding Budget
Transportation – you won’t have to spend thousands on transportation if your wedding ceremony and reception is in one place and there are multiple hotel options within walking distance.
Real Flowers- For sustainability purposes we have seen a huge rise in quality and ability to use silk flowers. Silk flowers are a great option to decorate the backdrop you will get married behind.

Thank you gifts- Your friends and family did not come for the gift. They came for you and to have a good time. Spend money making sure they enjoy themselves with good food, cocktails, music, they don’t need a take home gift. Many get left in übers and hotel rooms anyway.
Extraordinary dessert tables- When it comes to dessert keep it simple. Everyone is stuffed, they don’t want 7 desserts to choose between.

Floral Centerpieces- Candles are the best centerpieces. They don’t even look budget friendly, but they give a warm romantic feel to the venue without a heavy cost.

Premium Bar or Open Bars- Premium bar is absolutely not needed. With free drinks your guests are going to consume quantity. The quality will be unnoticeable. If you have a venue that allows a consumption based bar we highly recommend that as well. Venues will pad the open bar price heavily, so your guests will never consume enough where an open bar package is a “deal.”
