2024 Is the Best Year to Get Married

Unique Brooklyn Wedding Venue

I hope this feeling continues into 2025 and beyond, but this 2024 wedding season is hands down the best time to get married in, dare I say it, decades.

You know how trends are constantly going in and out? This is the year where the only thing that is truly “in” is exactly what you want. Bespoken weddings are the trend and I hope that lasts forever. Like Taylor Swift and Travis Kelsey. After listening to the WeddingPros latest webinar on wedding trends the gist was, “do what works best for you.” We are here for it. At an All-Inclusive venue things are easily moved around to support those goals. Here are some things that people are changing up in their wedding day.

  1. Private Vows- Sentimental vows exchanged before the ceremony usually during the first look and then during the ceremony stick to traditional vows.
  2. Emphasize the Rehearsal Dinner- Exchange personal vows or hilarious speeches with a more intimate crowd during your rehearsal dinner.
  3. The Last Dance- Saving each other the last dance instead of starting off the party with a dance. You also don’t have to do an intensely choreographed first dance. Taking dance lessons may not be something you want to add to your wedding to do list.
  4. Beauty Rest instead of Brunch- Instead of Brunch couples are opting for a recovery massage, spa day or something relaxing to enjoy with a group instead of sharing another meal. This is all about giving yourselves and your guest self care over the weekend instead of another obligation.
  5. No Kids- I don’t think this is very uncommon anymore. I think it’s very okay to not have children at weddings.
  6. No bouquets or flowers- A bouquet is a non functional item that you hold for photos and a few seconds down the aisle. Skip it if your not a floral girl. Many brides are opting for the romantic and moody look especially for night weddings. Filling the room with candles instead of florals is an excellent and more accepted substitution to flowers.
  7. I’ve said it before, and I will say it again, Micro Weddings- Micro Weddings are growing and rapid speed. They aren’t even generally couples with a small budget. They are couples who want to prioritize their budget on other things and more customizations than in a typical wedding. For example multiple types of music and entertainment, or many food experiences for their guests. Customized cakes and personalized gifts are being incorporated into these small weddings that you just don’t have the capacity to do in larger weddings. This attention to detail turns a Micro Wedding into an experience their guests will never forget.
  8. Destination Ceremonies- Destination Ceremonies at a place that is significant to you and your partner or family is growing. Then celebrating with a true reception back at home is an execrating trend especially amongst celebrities.
  9. Wedding Parties- Bridal parties are slowly fizzling out. Either they sit during the ceremony to keep the attention on the couple or they are non existent. This doesn’t mean you can’t have your friends get ready with you, it just means we take the drama out of the title.

In summary, the wedding trends this year are braking down “what is a wedding,” and building up the couple and their uniqueness.
