Keeping it Classy at this Brooklyn Wedding

Talk about a classy Wedding Day! This Deity Brooklyn Wedding speaks for itself. This couple did it right for their big day. Le Image Photography captured the magic. We checked in with the Bride herself to tell us about her classic New York Wedding:

Describe your wedding day Deity made sure that our wedding day was absolutely perfect. I got ready with my mom, sister and mother-in-law in the bridal suite while Matt got ready at our apartment nearby. I invited my friends to drop by during the day while I got ready. It was great to have a beautiful space to hang out in. We took photos at Deity and around the neighborhood. After we took photos outside, we had some downtime in the bridal suite before the ceremony. Matt even snuck in a quick nap! We met on the swim team at Vassar College and our former swim coach officiated the wedding. We were both way more nervous than we anticipated and definitely breathed a huge sigh of relief after the ceremony. We’re very thankful for the 20ish minutes we spent just us in the bridal suite between the ceremony and the cocktail hour. Dinner was smooth and efficient. We’ve been to many weddings were the food is delayed or cold and we got a lot of compliments on both how good the food at Deity was and how efficient the service was. Dancing was a real highlight of the wedding. We didn’t realize that servers were going to take drink orders for those on the dance floor. It was amazing! Everyone had a blast and we couldn’t have been happier.

Was there something that surprised you on your wedding day? We knew that we were in good hands with Anna (Deity Wedding Coordinator), but she really went above and beyond to take care of us. There are unexpected challenges with any big event, but Anna handled everything that came up and made it look easy (even accommodating a guest who showed up unexpectedly).

Whose help did you enlist the most? Leading up to the wedding, we planned almost everything together with Deity’s help (obviously). During the wedding weekend, we relied a lot on our siblings (my sister Siena and Matt’s brother Elliot) as well as our friends. We didn’t have wedding parties, but I invited my friends to come to the bridal suite while my sister/mom/mother-in-law and I got ready. It’s such a great space and it was wonderful to spend time with all of my closest friends the morning of our big day.

Was there a particular detail that a vendor did for you that was special?
All of our vendors were amazing. Eka at Edelweiss is a genius. She took my vision for the wedding arch, bouquet, etc. and really ran with it. We got a lot of compliments on the florals.

Do you have a favorite memory from that day? There are so many to choose from. The ceremony is probably our favorite memory. We wrote our own vows and it was incredibly special to read them to each other in front of our friends and family. Our guests erupted with applause during our *first* kiss. It was unforgettable. Another great memory is our first dance. We danced to Rather Be by Clean Bandit, which isn’t a typical first dance song. I think it surprised our guests (in a good way) and it made all those lessons feel worth it!

After visiting Deity in December 2019, we knew it was the wedding venue for us. We immediately fell in love with the space. Each floor is uniquely charming and the flow of the wedding through each of the three floors was exactly the vibe we were looking for in an event space. We were also attracted to the all-inclusive nature of the Deity planning experience. Deity handles food, DJ, table linens/flatware/etc. in-house. Planning a wedding can be stressful, but Deity makes it seamless – even through COVID. Throughout the planning process Caio, the owner, was communicative, transparent and flexible. We always felt he had our best interest and the best interest of our guests at heart. We got married in August 2021 and it was everything we dreamed and more. Anna, our day-of coordinator, truly went above and beyond. She ensured that my husband and I had everything we needed (and didn’t know we needed) throughout the day and evening. The food, drinks and service at Deity are truly top notch. We’re still getting compliments from friends and family on how much they enjoyed our wedding. We cannot say enough good things about Caio and the Deity team.

Special thanks to the vendors!
