Dancing Down the Aisle in Brooklyn

At this Brooklyn Wedding reception, it was all about the dancing! Deity NYC Wedding Venue came dance floor ready to please this crowd. Natalie of Reminisce Photography caught all the action at the perfect moments!  The evening started with a beautifully decorated dinner by Rosehip Social Florists and Deity Catering. And ended in an epic dance party, truly one for the books. Let’s hear what the Bride herself had to say about the amazing night:

Our wedding day was exactly what we had hoped for:  it was an absolute blast.  As far as weddings go, it was relatively chill and definitely stress-free.  We got to spend a ton of time laughing and dancing and eating and drinking with our favorite people 🙂

Was there something that surprised you on your wedding day?Nothing really surprises Zenon!  For me, though, I was shocked at how not stressed I was… I definitely was nervous especially beforehand, but I expected to have to really have my lavender oil in use and I didn’t break it out even once!3.     If you had to pick one favorite memory from that day what would that be?(okay-maybe two, I know it’s hard to choose) Our church ceremony.  Zenon is Ukrainian and it meant a lot for both of us to have our family and friends there for such an important day, and for my family who is not Ukrainian to experience and be part of this cultural experience was meaningful.Another favorite memory was going to Washington Square Park for pictures with our wedding parties – it was about 15 degrees outside (or it felt that way) but we were just goofing off and having fun.  The candid photos from this part of our night really perfectly capture our relationship with each other and with our friends and siblings.

Whose help did you enlist the most? We did much of the planning on our own.  Our friends and family gave input when we asked, and our vendors were all extremely helpful.  Above all, though, you all at Deity made everything so simple.  You guided us and answered ALL our questions, and helped to make our day so authentic to us.

Let’s talk about your vendors Flowers:  Rosehip Social (Williamsburg)    Dessert:  Mia’s Bakery (Smith Street)    Photography:  Reminisce Photos (Natalie Headley, whom I work with at Bar Method!)    Hair and Makeup:  Brides by Sonia Castleberry (Sonia and Tatyanna are dear friends of mine, and I was so grateful to have talented folks I know make us look gorgeous!)    Also for what it’s worth, I highly recommend Jenny Yoo if any future brides are lost on where to dress shop!  Oh,and I got my shoes custom made at LaDuca, which I also recommend if folks are looking for “comfortable wedding shoes.”  I felt VERY fancy!

Was there a particular detail that a vendor did for you that was special? Lauren and Pola at Rosehip really took the time to help us craft exactly what we wanted for florals.  Truly above and beyond! Stamatis at Mia’s also met with us several times and was patient and had great suggestions for our dessert table.  Also, the prices at Mia’s are a steal for the amazing food they make.

How did you find and decide on Deity as your Wedding Venue? We did a lot of Google searching, and visited three venues, Deity being one of them, to start.  It was immediately clear to us that what we wanted – to find a place that is reasonably priced, includes most everything, and has great attention to detail – is exactly what Deity offers.  I would have had a VERY different wedding day if I had to coordinate tablecloths, a DJ, silverware, etc at a venue twice the price!  Honestly it was an absolute dream to work with you all.
