Take us back to this NYC Winter Wedding. Making us nostalgic for the pre-pandemic days at Deity Events in Downtown Brooklyn. Artfully recording the big day of Victoria & Jack was David Perlman Photography Every detail of this Wedding was perfection, from the Bride’s gorgeous gown and custom “Just Married” leather jacket. To the Deity Bridal Suite and Loft for getting ready and the ceremony. As well as the sweeping views of New York City for group photos. The amazing night ended with a dance party to end all dance parties (it’s like they knew!) Followed by an epic dessert spread and late night pizza delivery.
Here is what the Bride had to say about their Wedding Day:
Describe your wedding day: It was the best day of our lives! Victoria and her bridesmaids, mom, and mother-in-law got ready in the Deity bridal suite, which was so much fun! We had lots of food and drinks, and hung out while we all got our hair and makeup done. Then, in the afternoon, since the temperature was much warmed than expected for January, our photographer David suggested that we do a first look in Dumbo. Victoria and her bridesmaids decided that would be fun, so they met Jack and his groomsmen there. We did the first look in Dumbo, and then took some more photos by the water. We then all went back to Deity, where we did family photos and had a rehearsal for the ceremony. The rest of the wedding went by in a blur – all of a sudden, it was the last song of the night.
Was there something that surprised you on your wedding day? How quickly it went by surprised Victoria. It felt like I was getting ready one minute and the next it was last song of the night.
If you had to pick one favorite memory from that day what would that be? For both of us, it was the ceremony that was our favorite memory. Victoria’s sister officiated and did the best job in the world. We had no idea what she was going to say beforehand, and she had us and all of our guests both crying and laughing the whole time. We also each wrote our own vows, which was very special. The whole ceremony felt like it was just overflowing with love and joy.
Whose help did you enlist the most? Deity definitely took care of a lot of the heavy lifting. Other than that, Victoria’s mom, sister, and dad helped out a lot, both providing input on the food and other details, and providing emotional support throughout the planning process.
How did you find and decide on Deity as your Wedding Venue? We found Deity on Google, after an exhausting search of unique/affordable wedding venues in the Tristate area. Honestly, we had given up hope that we would find anything until we found Deity. We did not want the traditional wedding venue (i.e., banquet hall) and couldn’t find anything that fit the bill. We also were on a strict budget and most places in NY and NJ were not in our price range. Then, on a whim, we saw photos of Deity online and thought it was too good to be true. Caio gave us the tour and made us feel totally at ease. We trusted him completely and were sold – it was then just a matter of making the numbers work. But it was kind of just a gut feeling – when we toured Deity and met Caio, we just knew that we had found our venue. It was absolutely unique and perfect and we were sold.
What was your crowd like? Dancing crowd? Foodies? Our crowd was definitely a heavy dancing and drinking crowd. The dance floor was packed the whole time, and drinks were FLOWING. I would also say that our crowd was foodies – we are both Italian and making sure that there was enough food (that was excellent quality) was a high priority for us, and we were not disappointed.
Was there a particular detail that a vendor did for you that was special? Deity (!) did a couple of really nice things for us – you guys moved the leafy decorations from the ceremony arch to the couple’s table without us asking, and you displayed the dessert with such care and craft without us asking (for example, you cut all the donuts in half and make a beautiful display with them). David our photographer also stayed an hour more than he had to to make sure we had photos with our late night pizza. Amazebooths made us a beautiful keepsake photo album, where they had guests put a copy of their photos and write us a little note – we had no idea they would be doing this!
Thanks to all of the Vendors!
