This Brooklyn Wedding showcases the idyllic pre-pandemic times beautifully! This gorgeous couple kept it local, having their ceremony and reception at Deity NYC Event Venue. Florals by the area favorite Rosehip Social. Delicious cake by Atlantic Ave staple, Betty Bakery. Capturing this special time was Kasey Loftin Photography.
Here is what the Bride had to say about the big day in her own words!
We stayed at the Hilton right around the block from Deity. It was incredibly convenient to just be able to bob around between the two spots. There are so many groovy local businesses and photography locations close to Deity that it made the “day of” planning an ease!
I was hesitant to do a first look prior to the ceremony, but it was honestly one of the better decisions we made looking back on the day! Jeremy and I were able to get incredible shots together at Brooklyn Bridge Park prior to the wedding so that afterwards all we had to worry about was relaxing and drinking with friends and family.
I was also a bit nervous about having the ceremony “run through” on the day of as well, but the Deity staff knew exactly when to step in and help. There were a number of times I looked at Anna in a moment of “I don’t know what to do?” and she read my mind!
The space for the wedding made the entire ceremony very intimate and I felt like everyone was relaxed from any nerves. Even though not everyone in the room knew each other, it was as if we all had spent many lifetimes together, and I ascribe this to the layout and warmth of the space.
I could go on and on about the delicious food and how no drink was ever empty and the music was perfectly attuned to my and Jeremy’s vibe. But, I will end by saying that many people talk about their wedding day being a blur, and to some extent it is, however, as an A-type personality, I have never felt more relaxed and taken care of then I did by the Deity staff. There was never a moment in the night when I was stressed or anxious, in fact, I was more “in the moment” then I believe I had felt since starting our wedding planning journey. Words cannot express my gratitude for Deity in making this possible!
Was there something that surprised you on your wedding day? I LOVED that after the ceremony it was just our families together in the back hugging and congratulating each other. That was something I had never experienced at other weddings and it was a very special time!
If you had to pick one favorite memory from that day what would that be? I definitely have mentioned them already, but I think if I had to choose something I haven’t brought up… It would have been my grandmother riding the chair lift up the stairs. She loved it and we have videos!
Whose help did you enlist the most? Your partner’s, mom’s, sister’s, friend’s, Deity? I would say it was a nice combo of my mom, Jeremy, and the Deity staff. Caio was great with answering many of questions (most of which I already asked) but his patience was top-notch. Anna and Karl were mind readers and took control of the evening. They were in the background enough that I didn’t even realize all they were coordinating behind the scene.
What was your crowd like? Dancing crowd? Foodies? Everyone definitely had their fill of alcohol. My number one priority was that our guests had a great time and based on everyone’s feedback, it was the most epic evening at a wedding they had had!
Was there a particular detail that a vendor did for you that was special? It was so handy to work with vendors (like Rosehip) that knew the space. Honestly, that part was a dream to coordinate!
How did you find and decide on Deity as your Wedding Venue? The convenience factor! It was an amazing location and almost everything was planned through the venue. The cost is very moderate for an “all in one” venue. Truth be told, it was one of the few places we visited that felt genuine in expressing their desire to work with us. Many venues had an heir about them, but we never felt rushed by Deity and felt respected and valued through the entire process.
Thanks to all these amazing local vendors!
