Sublime Simplicity in this Brooklyn Wedding

A one-of-a-kind NYC Wedding was captured by Kathleen Telsco of Parenthesis Photography. On a beautiful October day that had started out rainy but then ended in sunshine. This couple went for a stripped down and stress-free big day. It was held at Deity NYC Event Venue in Boerum Hill, which is an experience that  embodies the feeling of Brooklyn. From their “first look” in front of the Art Deco facade of Deity. To the ceremony in a light filled Loft Space. In keeping with the simplicity of the planning for the day, this Brooklyn Bride used her talented Mother for the bouquets and centerpieces.

Since this was not a traditional wedding, this reception and dinner could not be at your average catering hall. Sticking with the unique look of the venue, the table numbers gave off Great Gatsby vibes. Dinner was a reflection of Brooklyn with citrus salad, braised shortribs, roasted brussel sprouts, and garlic mashed potatoes served family-style. The party kept going down in the Deity Cellar. With exposed brick, “Brooklyn Love” light sign, and disco ball, this dance floor had the right mix to make this a fun Wedding. The evening ended on a sweet not with the cutting of the sprinkle-covered Butter and Scotch Wedding cake.

“Deity was a perfect fit for this Brooklyn based couple! The location is central and within walking distance of lots of good hotels. The all inclusive aspect was key to us, as I’m not a DIY person! It was such a relief to turn over pretty much every aspect of the wedding and have recommendations for all the outside vendors needed (flowers, cake, etc). Deity was professional leading up to the wedding, always responding back quickly to my endless emails. Any issue was immediately solved and all questions answered. The day of execution was flexible (it rained so we got to Deity earlier than planned) and organized. My husband and I could relax and let them handle everything and we had an absolute blast! We got tons of compliments on the atmosphere, the food, and the service. I can’t wait to see the pictures, as Deity is so pretty! A wonderful wedding experience.” -the Bride
