This DIY couple went above and beyond to make their Wedding Day super personal. As captured by the photographer Andori DeSoto Photo. Married on a gorgeous day in late summer, Myriam & George hosted family and friends in style. Their inspiration for the wedding came from a few places. The bride really wanted a vintage themed wedding and George (who is a big comic book fan) wanted to do something more light and fun. He’s a huge Batman fan and they dress up as Batman and Catwoman almost every Halloween so they figured a vintage theme Batman and Catwoman wedding would work.
George dressed the guys in newsie inspired outfits to blend with the vintage idea. Myriam wasn’t actually sure how it was going to work out but ultimately blended nicely together. The style of Deity Brooklyn Wedding Venue really helped bring it together.

In terms of décor, the maid of honor and the Bride spent lots of time looking at ideas on Pinterest. They made the centerpieces, the guest scrapbook, rented the tablecloths, she made the gold framed display using one of our engagement pictures. They displayed our engagement pictures in gold frames to kind of highlight the vintage theme. The bridesmaids actually made the bouquets and the table seating chart. The Wedding favors were bought from Etsy. They used Etsy for a lot of things including Myriam’s veil/spectator as well as George’s bowtie and the groomsmen bowties.
Makeup was done by a MAC trained artist Arianna Dejesus-Cordoba. The Bride and Groom’s hair was done by long time hair stylist who works with Hello Beautiful Salon in Brooklyn and Dream Dry, Faith Huffnagle. The Bride bought her dress from BHLDN (Anthropologie’s Bridal Wear Website). The bridesmaid’s dresses were rented from Rent The Runway and were extremely affordable and flattering to each girl. The Bride says “This is actually my biggest bragging point because it took me FOREVER to find something that would work for each girl. 3 months to be exact where my dress took like 10 minutes to pick.”

From the Bride “My husband and I got married here this August and honestly, the venue exceeded our highest expectations. We were looking for a vintage style, unique venue that was convenient for our family members location wise. This was it! The venue let us use all 3 floors for our event. Each floor was beautiful and made each part of the wedding special.”
For cocktail the guests noshed on jerked chicken sliders and mini cuban sandwiches. For dinner, filet mignon, BBQ chicken, cream spinach, & garlic mashed potatoes were served family-style. The delicious cake and cupcakes were made by Brooklyn Cupcake.

Myriam says “We immediately knew Deity was it once we walked in. Caio and his wife (the owners) are lovely but our DJ (DJ Trauma) and Caio’s staff running the wedding were not far behind. Although everyone was working so hard, it really felt like the staff was genuinely happy for us and were enjoying our wedding too! Everything looked great which we definitely appreciated since we did a lot of DIY projects in preparation for the big day. It was great to see it all come together.”
