This timeless Brooklyn Wedding of AJ and Chelsea, was captured by Red Anchor Photo on a Saturday in March. This classy couple had pre-ceremony photo shoot in the highly popular neighborhood of DUMBO. You can see the love that these two have from the results.
They then moved to Deity Brooklyn Wedding Venue for the ceremony & reception. In the Jewish tradition, the Ketuba was signed in a private moment underneath Deity’s tree of life. A special custom for the immediate family and the couple.
The pair then joined the other guests on the Loft level of the venue. There they were married under a delicate, handmade fabric Chuppah against an ethereal light curtain. The ambience was complimented by live musicians: a cellist Leah Coloff and an acoustic guitarist Greg Diamond.
After the ceremony came cocktail hour in the Lounge section of Deity. Guests noshed on passed hors d’oeuvres that included chicken & waffle bites with lavender honey, smoked kobe beef burgers with chipotle ketchup & guacamole, and lobster roll sliders with lemon-lime tartar sauce. The party then grabbed their escort “cards” for dinner, which were tiny potted succulents with their names attached.
Dinner tables were dressed with succulent and orchid centerpieces designed by Floral Heights. Served for dinner were some classic favorites: medallions of filet mignon with wild mushroom truffle gravy, crusted & seared yellowfin tuna, and crispy sautéed brussel sprouts. Prepared and presented by Deity catering’s executive chef Jason Bunin.
Chelsea & AJ did however nixed one tradition by not having a Wedding Cake per se. Instead they delighted their guests with a mix of New York desserts, including cheesecake and cannoli. The evening soon turned into dancing, and it’s not really a Wedding until the Hora is done!
The Bride had this to say about the big day: “My wedding at Deity was absolutely perfect, and I couldn’t recommend them more highly. The staff was incredible and every single person really went above and beyond to make sure every detail was worked out and that the entire night went off without a hitch. The food was delicious and there was a ton of it (highly recommend steak and tuna). Caio (Deity’s owner) remembered every single thing we discussed and nobody had to worry about a single thing from the second the event started. He also took special care of everything we had brought in for the ceremony that had sentimental value, which I really appreciated because I would have totally forgotten about a lot of it. The DJ was really fantastic as well. Deity really just makes it so you don’t have to worry about anything except having an amazing time. Relative to other NYC venues we looked at, it was extremely well priced as well. Guests consistently remarked that the pictures don’t do the place justice, so even though it’s beautiful online, it’s really striking in person and the ambiance was perfect for a party that was joyful, warm, and really really fun.”
