Choosing the season in which to tie the knot really sets the tone for every other decision you make in the wedding planning process. Do you want an indoor or outdoor ceremony? Is your décor a winter wonderland theme or a spring soiree with fresh bouquets as centerpieces? No matter your preferences there are several things to take into consideration when choosing your wedding season

Price $$$; Most wedding vendors offer high and low season pricing. If you want to jump the broom in June expect to shell out a lot more than you would if you planned your nuptials for March. This is basically due to the majority of Brides wanting to get married in the summer and fall months so the demand for most vendors at that time of year is high. Of course, our amazing photography and video packages are the same price no matter when you get married, although you should book ASAP if you are getting married in one of the more popular months.

Your level of comfort: If the thought of posing for portraits outdoors in a full length gown with train and veil in the high temps of July makes you want to scream, you are probably better off getting married in the cooler months. You do a lot of running around on your big day. Between commuting from the hotel to the church to the venue, adding in really hot or really cold temps could definitely put a damper (pun intended) on your plans.

Your Venue: Does your venue offer indoor and outdoor options? If you opt for a garden ceremony, does the venue have a back up location indoors in case of rain? Is there adequate heat for winter weddings? Reliable AC for the summer months? Do you have to walk outdoors from the cocktail area to the reception room? These are all questions you should ask your venue when considering your wedding season. Maybe even ask to chat with a couple that got married there in the same season you are planning for.

Tara and Grant started their day at Nu Hotel on Smith Street in Brooklyn (a popular choice for Deity clients). The Bride was stunning in a backless white sheath gown and wore her hair in romantic waves. Grant looked sharp in a 3-piece black tuxedo and blue tie. She met her groom in the lobby of the hotel for their first look before heading over to the venue for their ceremony.

The couple exchanged vows on the top floor loft that also doubles as the perfect portrait space for colder months or in case of rain. Tara & Grant spent some time walking around the neighborhood (after putting on a cozy fur coat) for portraits while their guests enjoyed cocktails in the second level lounge.

After dinner the night ended with dancing and cake in the renovated bottom cellar of the venue. We were honored to be a part of their wedding celebration and wish them a lifetime of happiness.
