Stunning Gatsby Themed Brooklyn Wedding

Our wedding was a grand Gatsby affair; a step back in time. The guests were all dressed in their 1920’s best, men in tuxedos and three-piece suits and women in stunning evening gowns. There was a buzz in the air that I could hear and feel coming from the lounge where the guests were congregating before the ceremony.  It felt like a dream.

The first look, it took place on the rooftop as the sun was starting to set, we were both so excited to see each other and the emotion and love between us was palpable.

Our wedding party all chipped in to help but being that our wedding was a destination event, we relied heavily on the advice and guidance of the Deity team.  They went above and beyond to make recommendations to local vendors not typically used, coordinate timeline of shipments and overall décor coordination from afar.

The Ceremony, the floor was stunning, the florist and Deity staff created a whimsical indoor garden with greenery draping across the ceiling and crawling up the windows throughout the room, the aisle was lined with candles that led to the rooms center piece, a beautiful hexagon covered in roses, hand built for our wedding by my now husband. The aroma of the flowers filled the room and was intoxicating, something I will remember always.   On the same accord, when the room was turned over for dinner, the table settings were all that I had dreamed and more they made the room feel romantic and warm.

The crowd was a fair mix of foodies and dancers.  They loved the tray passed Hors D’oeuvres during cocktail hour and the family style dinner.  During the reception, they enjoyed the drinks to order versus a bar, it kept the guest engaged in the party versus crowding around a bar.

Deity did so many little things leading up to our wedding day to make it perfect.  They went above and beyond; their entire staff were amazing. I had visited Deity for an event several years prior to our wedding.  When my then Fiancé and I agreed we wanted a Great Gatsby / Roaring 20’s wedding, there was no doubt in my mind Deity was where we wanted to have our wedding.  The restored early 1900’s building, the beautiful bar and cocktail area; makes you feel like you’ve been transported back to probation era.  As if that wasn’t enough, the ease of planning took a huge weight off with in-house planning, catering, music and recommended vendors to choose from.
